Power Up Network
The Power Up Network is a culturally relevant professional training program. It seeks to empower Young Men of Color to lead, exceed, and succeed in their academic and professional lives.

About Us
The Power Up Network will promote the success of Young Men of Color (YMOC) by preparing them for careers while addressing their unique experiences and challenges.
The program’s goals include:
- Elevate YMOC into leadership roles on and off campus
- Promote YMOC engagement in community service
- Provide individualized mentorship to help YMOC make better choices about their career options
- Establish connections to diverse social networks that may facilitate post-graduate employment
- Prepare YMOC to secure paid internships to earn income while they gain skills.

Our Strategy
Through special, co-curricular programming, Power Up seeks to target these areas for personal development in Young Men of Color:
The innate ability to be creative and innovative in the face of change and economic adversity.
A sharp awareness of the social, political, technological, and economic forces shaping future economies.
The ability to think critically, reason analytically, solve problems, communicate thoughts and emotions clearly, and collaborate with diverse teams.
The ability for YMOC to comfortably “code switch” and interact with a diversity of people from different cultural/ethnic and economic backgrounds.
The affirmation of YMOC’s cultural identity through activities that will celebrate their heritage and cultivate an understanding of biases they will encounter in the larger society.
