The Lyda B. Hunt Gallery is Mary Baldwin University’s art gallery located on the lower floor of Hunt Dining Hall. Hunt Gallery hosts approximately four contemporary exhibitions per year by both emerging and established artists with regional, national, and international recognition. The gallery also exhibits student and faculty work.
Hunt Gallery exhibits work that reflects a wide variety of media and artistic sentiments; it captures a slice of the contemporary art world and brings exemplary artistic talents and insights to our campus community. The gallery aims to create a space for new ideas, social connections, and diverse stories and perspectives. Each exhibition boasts corresponding openings and engagement events.
Hunt Gallery is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, during the university’s academic year.
Exhibition Proposals
Established and emerging professional artists may submit exhibition proposals for showing their work in Hunt Gallery. Please include the following in your proposal:
- A brief description of the proposed exhibition;
- a current cv;
- a short bio;
- an updated artist’s statement;
- 10 – 15 images
- Submit JPG images (1600 pixels in the longest dimension).
Please name and enter the File of the jpg image as follows:
LastName_FirstName_ImageName.jpg
