The Majors
The Education & Society Neighborhood majors share a focus on human behavior, societal issues, and the development of critical thinking. These fields focus on positively impacting areas like education, mental health, and policy. Learn more below!
As the numbers of those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder rise, the need for caring, qualified professionals continues to grow. Through MBU’s 100% online program, you’ll learn the skills you need to create positive impact in the lives of children and adults.
Mary Baldwin’s criminal justice program equips you with essential analytical, technical, and communication skills, preparing you to make a meaningful difference in the field.
Teacher education has been a strength of ours for a long time, and it’s our single most popular academic program. We offer two bachelor’s programs: Elementary Education and Special Education.
Discover the rich tapestry of human history. Our program is led by enthusiastic historians who provide a comprehensive understanding of American, British, African American, and European history.
The Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies (LAIS) major gives you the flexibility to explore your interests with two tracks to choose from: Humanities and Educational Foundations.
Deepen your understanding of the complex human psyche. From unraveling the mysteries of behavior to exploring the inner workings of the mind, our curriculum will empower you with knowledge and skills applicable in a wide range of fields.
Our communities need thoughtful leaders to spearhead policies that impact our everyday lives. Our Public Policy major will prepare you to think analytically and ethically about our social and political contexts so you can help build a better future.
This major focuses on teaching the best methods to empower, aid, and improve people and communities. Through partnerships with local and state-wide organizations, our program puts where you can do the most good.
The Education and Society Neighborhood at MBU offers distinctive support for students transitioning to college, with engaging majors that integrate real-life experiences and community-focused research as essential learning tools. Through peer mentorship and strong faculty connections, students will build an academic portfolio with guidance tailored to their career interests.
